Northwest Iowa — The continuing pandemic has caused issues with many things we have come to take for granted. The annual Memorial Day observances, services, and honors are among them.

The Boyden American Legion has decided to cancel the Memorial Day Program that was scheduled for May 25, 2020.

The Hull Wagman Koele Post 380 Memorial Day observances that are normally held at the Catholic Cemetery in Hull, the St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery, and the Hope Cemetery in Hull have all been canceled this year.

Sioux Center and Orange City will hold a joint virtual service at 9:30 a.m. on Monday on Facebook. The service will be closed to the public but it will take place at Memory Gardens Cemetery or at the Sioux Center First Reformed Church if it is raining. Army chaplain Jordan Helming of Sioux Center will be the speaker for the service.
