Boyden, Iowa — A Hospers 15-year-old was injured when his car collided with a semi West of Boyden early Wednesday morning.

At 5:52 a.m. Wednesday, the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office investigated a motor vehicle accident that occurred at the intersection of Jackson Avenue and Highway 18, three miles west of Boyden.

According to the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office, 56-year-old Harlow Teunissen of Canton SD was eastbound on Highway 18 in a 1999 Peterbilt semi-tractor pulling a grain trailer. Deputies say a 1994 Buick Park Avenue, driven by 15-year-old Brevyn Kramer of Hospers, was northbound on Jackson Avenue. According to authorities, Kramer turned left onto Highway 18, colliding in the intersection with the Teunissen semi.

Deputies report Kramer was transported by the Boyden Ambulance to Orange City Area Health for treatment of minor injuries.

The report says the Peterbilt sustained approximately $12,000 in damage. The Buick sustained an estimated $4,000 in damage.

Kramer was reportedly cited for failure to yield from a stop sign.

The sheriff’s office was assisted by the Boyden Fire Department and Boyden Ambulance.
