The Dordt Defender men’s basketball team earned a 22 point win on day two of a classic hosted by Northwestern in Orange City, Iowa.

The first half was played at a double digit difference for much of the 20 minutes but Ozark Christian. With 4:17 left in the half the Defenders were up 37-26 but Ozark Christian charged back to within 38-34 with 1:34 left before intermission.

A basket by Chad Barkema stopped the momentum and Garrett Franken got a late hoop to put Dordt up 43-36 at the break.

After withstanding the comeback attempt Dordt pushed the lead to double digits again in the second half and was up 59-49 after a Josh Van Lingen basket. The Defenders controlled the rest of the game and led by as many as 93-66 before settling for the 94-72 win.
