Orange City, Iowa — An Orange City man faces charges of Felony Domestic Abuse Assault, and Violation of a No-Contact Order following a pair of incidents over the past few days in Orange City.

According to court records, Orange City Police responded to a report of a domestic disturbance at a residence on 5th Street Northeast in Orange City. According to court records, the female victim in the incident alleged that she and her husband had been arguing, and that he had pushed and kicked her multiple times, and that he had taken her cell phone from her when she tried to call 911. Responding officers reportedly noticed marks on the victim from the alleged assault. As a result of the incident, 39-year-old Timothy Randall Droog was arrested and charged with Domestic Abuse Assault.

Court records indicate that Droog has been convicted of Domestic Abuse Assault on three prior occasions once in 2011 in Woodbury County, in 2015 in Dickinson County, and in 2018 in Sioux County. Those prior convictions elevate the current Domestic Abuse Assault charge to a Class D Felony. Court records also indicate that a No Contact Order was issued against Droog in this most recent incident, barring him from having contact with the alleged victim in this case.

Three days after his arrest on the Domestic Abuse Assault charge, Orange City Police charged Droog with violating the No Contact Order after an Orange City Officer allegedly spotted Droog in the presence of the alleged victim in the case, according to court records.
