Chanda Zomermaand and Kate Wynja both finished in the top five at the Midland Invite played Monday at the Fremont Golf Club in Fremont, Neb.

Zomermaand carded a season-best 82 and finished fourth among the 51 golfers, her best finish this season. Wynja finished one spot behind, in fifth place, with a season-best round of 83.

For the third consecutive meet, Northwestern finished in fifth place among the eight teams competing. They shot a 369, five shots in back of fourth place Midland. Mount Marty won the meet with a 352, one stroke better than second place Concordia.

Northwestern junior Hayley Carlson shot a 99 and placed 31st in today’s round. Samantha Olson (T38 – 105) and Mia Hoogeveen (T40 – 106) round out the scores for Head Coach Courtney Den Herder’s squad.

Victoria Suto from College of Saint Mary was medalist with an 80.
