Dordt will travel to face the Briar Cliff Chargers on Wednesday night, December 5 in Sioux City, Iowa.

The Briar Cliff Chargers are 5-4 this season and 2-4 in the GPAC.  Two of the Chargers’ wins have been in overtime. The wins in league play are over Doane and Mount Marty and those were back to back wins on November 17 and 20 before the Chargers stumbled against Dakota Wesleyan. Mike Power’s team is averaging 75.8 points per game with 70.3 allowed. Briar Cliff is shooting for a 42.4 percent success rate and teams are converting 35.8 against them. Teams outrebound the Chargers 44.7-41.8.

Dordt’s women are 8-3 this season and 3-3 in the GPAC.  Morningside handed Dordt its first loss of the season on November 10 after the Defenders started the season 5-0 and Dakota Wesleyan nipped the Defenders by four the next game. Dordt’s third loss was to Northwestern last week but Dordt resumed its winning ways with a home victory over Jamestown.

Dordt’s women are averaging 86.4 points per game and limit teams to 70.2 points per outing.  Dordt also has a 47-37 rebounding advantage and has converted 46.2 percent of its field goals and 35 percent of its three-point shots.

The Briar Cliff men are 8-1 this season and 5-1 in the GPAC with a loss to Morningside the lone blemish. Two of Briar Cliff’s wins have been by single digits while the other six have been by 10 points or more. Briar Cliff has won three games in a row in the GPAC including a Saturday win over Dakota Wesleyan. The Chargers are outscoring teams 93-84 but are getting outrebounded 36-35. Briar Cliff makes 42 percent of its three-point shots and 50 percent of its field goals. Kyle Boerhave and Jaden Kleinhesselink, a pair of freshmen from Sheldon, are scoring 9.1 and 6.1 points per game respectively.

The Defender men are 8-4 this season and 2-3 in the GPAC.  Dordt’s losses in league play are to Morningside, Northwestern and Jamestown and its other loss is to Graceland.

Dordt is outscoring teams 82.3-76.4 and has a 42.2-36.5 rebounding edge. Dordt’s converting 45.7 percent of its field goals and 35.9 percent of its three-point shots while limiting opponents to 42.8 percent field goal success.

Both Dordt teams are at home on Saturday as they host Hastings with the women’s game starting at 2:00 and the men at 4:00.
