The Dordt Defenders survived a test by Concordia on Saturday, October 13 in GPAC volleyball at Sioux Center.

The first set wasn’t much of a test as the Defenders scored the first seven points of the set and rolled to a 25-10 win as the Bulldogs scored back to back points on two different occasions.

In the early going of set two Concordia turned the tables on Dordt and seized an 11-6 lead and pushed the difference to 15-9.  A Leah Kamp kill started a four point run and Lydia Smits recorded a kill to tie the set at 16-16.  Dordt’s first lead came on a Smits kill at 17-16 and Dordt pushed the difference to 21-19.  Dordt appeared poised to pull away but the visitors scored three unanswered  and led 24-22 with a chance to close out the set.

A service error got Dordt to within one and a Concordia attack error tied the set.  Dordt wouldn’t trail again, eventually winning 27-25 on a Julia Lindbergh kill.

Concordia grabbed another early lead in set three but dordt tied it at 14-14 and Dordt never trailed again. The Bulldogs did rally from a four point deficit and tied the set at 24-24 but a Kamp kill and an Ema Altena kill finished the set and the match.
