Alton, Iowa — An Alton man escaped injury after colliding with a grain wagon near Alton on Friday, July 7th.

The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office reports that just after 8:00 am on Friday, 56-year-old Thomas Pottebaum of Alton was driving a 2004 Chevrolet pickup pulling a grain wagon northbound on Larch Avenue, three miles northeast of Alton. Twenty-eight-year-old Justin Korver of Alton was driving a 2010 Jeep Patriot westbound on 440th Street. According to the report, Korver struck the grain wagon in the intersection.

The Chevrolet received $2,000 damage; the grain wagon received $3,000 damage, and the Jeep received $4,000 damage.

No injuries were reported.
