Thursday, January 12th LifeServe will be in Orange City at the American Reformed Church, located at 407 Albany Street SE, from 12:30 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.

LifeServe will be in Hull on Tuesday, January 17th at the Hull Library, located at 1408 Main Street, from 12:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.

You can donate with LifeServe on Wednesday, January 25th in Odebolt, at the Odebolt Community Center, located at 116 E 2nd Street, from 1:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.

Thursday, January 26th LifeServe will be in Orange City at the American Reformed Church, located at 407 Albany Street SE, from 8:00 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.

baked potatoHull First Christian Reformed Church will be hosting a Baked Potato Supper on Wednesday, January 11th from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the Hull Christian School. A freewill donation will be taken for the Christian Education Fund.

bible-study-1A new year is beginning soon. Take a break with us, a Coffee Break, to study the Bible. This weekly program is for women of all ages and denominations. We will begin our new year study on January 4 at 10:00 a.m., meeting every Wednesday morning at Hope Christian Reformed Church on the corner of 6th Street and Chestnut in Hull. We welcome your young children to join in Little Lambs and  we provide free child care in the nursery. We would love to have you join us in studying the word of God.

Un nuevo año comienza pronto. Tómese un descanso con nosotros, un Coffee Break, para estudiar la Biblia. Este programa semanal es para mujeres de todas las edades y denominaciones. Comenzaremos nuestro estudio de año nuevo el 4 de enero a 10:00. Nos reunimos cada miércoles por la mañana en la Iglesia Reformada Cristiana de Esperanza en la esquina de calle 6 y Chestnut, Hull. Damos la bienvenida a tus niños a participar en Corderos Pequeños y guardería infantil gratuita. Nos encantaría que únase a nosotros en el estudio de la palabra de Dios.

soupThe First Reformed Church in Orange City will be holding a Soup & Pie Supper on Wednesday, December 14th from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the church. Proceeds will go to the youth group’s Rocky mountain high trip.

Hegg Memorial Center Avera Health will host a community blood drive on Monday, December 12 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.  Residents will have an opportunity make a difference in the local blood supply.    Donors donating blood at the Hegg Memorial Center Avera Health blood drive will save up to three patients’ lives within the Rock Valley area.

Donors must be at least 17 years old (16 years old with a signed parent consent form found at www.cbblifeblood.org), weigh 110 lbs. or more and be in good general health.  Please bring an ID with you.  It is recommended that a person eat and drink plenty of fluids prior to donating blood.  The donation process only takes 30 – 35 minutes on the bloodmobile.

Community Blood Bank is the sole provider of blood and blood products for Hegg Memorial Center Avera Health and 33 other local hospitals.  For information or to make an appointment please contact Hegg Memorial Center Avera Health at 712-476-8020 or log onto www.cbblifeblood.org .  Walk-ins are always welcome.

Thursday, December 22nd LifeServe will be in Orange City at the American Reformed Church, located at 407 Albany Street SE, from 8:00 p.m. – 1:30 p.m.

LifeServe will be in Boyden on Saturday, December 24th at the DEMCO Community Center, located at 714 Main Street, from 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

You can donate with LifeServe on Wednesday, December 28th in Rock Valley, at Faith Reformed Church, located at 1305 7th Street, from 8:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.

Wednesday, December 28th LifeServe will also be in Granville at the Community Fire Hall, located at 671 Broad Street, from 3:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.

On Thursday, December 29th LifeServe will be in Hawarden at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, located at 1123 Ave L, from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m

The Northwest Iowa Symphony Youth Orchestra will present its Fall Concert on Saturday, December 3, at 3:00 p.m. in the BJ Haan Auditorium on the campus of Dordt College in Sioux Center, Iowa. The concert is free and open to the public.
Led by conductor Dr. Christopher Stanichar, NISYO will perform Brook Green Suite by Gustav Holst, Lion City by Soon Hee Newbold, Libertango by Astor Piazzolla, and three more works, including music for the holiday season.
Now in its tenth season, NISYO consists of middle school and high school string students from the surrounding area. Rehearsals are held in Sioux Center on Saturday mornings leading up to concerts in December and April. western-christianThe Western Christian FUND night supper and auction originally scheduled for Friday, November 18 will now take place on Saturday, November 19 since the Western Christian football team will be playing in the state championship football game on Friday.
On Saturday the schedule will be as follows:
  • the meal will start at 5:00 p.m. in the cafeteria
  • games for children will begin at 6:00 p.m. in the gymnasium
  • auction will begin at 6:30 p.m. in the Event Center
